Once we found out Candler's start date for work we planned a trip to his parents and to visit Aunt Judy. It was kind of an "around the world" trip. Candler's car needed a tune up and there is a really good (and cheap ) mechanic in his hometown. So we drove both cars to his parent's house, spent the night there, then headed to Louisville to see Aunt Judy, stayed two nights there, headed back to the Eve house, picked up the car, Candler went back to IKEA, then we met each other at home. Needless to say I am done with road trips for a month!
It was a lot of fun. Sav is getting to be right at home at John and Margie's house. She likes to know where puppy Joey is - typically according to Sav he is napping. She has her favorite desk to color at and she loves their backyard "forest" where she can play in the trees.
While in Louisville we were able to swim in Aunt Judy's pool which was fun because we were working on getting Sav to kick her legs in the water. I think I need to start looking into swim lessons for her at the Y. We also found a cool playground that let Sav run off some energy and make some new friends. Our last day in KY we had dinner with Uncle Mark, Aunt Shawn, Uncle Paul, and cousin Jocelyn. Unfortunately for them Sav had a big day and no nap - played at the park, lunch out, no nap, swam in the pool, and then they saw her...not at her best. I think most of the time they were there she chilled in an arm chair and then I put her to bed. Tired girl!
On the way back to John and Margie's we stopped at IKEA and picked up some items for the Man Cave. The Man Cave was getting transformed from the seminary room to Candler's office. A couple chairs and an organizer cube later and it's looking pretty good.
Very fun trip and I'm glad we could make it. We'll do some traveling again once Candler gets settled at work.
