Today is Valentine's day and honestly it's been a crappy month/week everything. I completely forgot that not only do I get to be excited about Valentine's day with my love (who cleaned the kitchen and got me a card and flowers for this Hallmark holiday) but I also get to celebrate five years ago we started a fabulous couple friendship with the Hatch's. Hillary and Jordan are way more creative than my analytical brain can comprehend and then heart attacked our front window complete with a count by numbers story of how we became to be such good friends. During my heightened emotional state this got me teared up for the millionth time and reminded me of all the fun times we've shared. Hard to believe it's been five years. So here is our story as written by Jordan and Hillary...
It all started one fateful night at good ole' Worthington Square Mall...when Candler (and his fancy tastes) were in search of a new planner from Franklin Covey....Fate would have it that Hillary was working at the Bath & Body Works store at this same mall...As closing time approached, a cute newly married couple sauntered into the store...To everyone's surprise...it was Colleen and Candler!!! With smiles from ear to ear!...Hillary had been very close to Colleen as fellow sisters in the University ward....But when Hillary married Jordan, the two girls slowly drifted as their schedules filled up with school, work, and internships....But...their friendship never ended!...With great joy, the two girls were reunited! They swapped phone numbers and promised to stay in touch....But who really stays in touch? Did they?!?!...YES!...The day was February 14th, 2007. It was snowy and the roads were very slick. The Eve's were looking for company and asked the Hatch's if they had Valentine's plans....The Hatch's did have plans. But Hillary is social and invited them to come to dinner with her and Jordan at P.F.Changs in Dublin. What did they say?!...SURE!...Everyone enjoyed a lovely and delicious meal at P.F. Changs that fateful Valentine's night. But what was even better than the food was the company and conversation!...And thus the relationship of the Eve's and Hatch's was born. Valentine's day will always be special for all. So...what happened afterwards?!?...Well, in no particular order...apartment neighbors, combo dinners, late night chats, freezy pops!, garage sales, fish tanks, zoo lights, work trips, fire pit, BBQ, BBQ, and more BBQ, trips to coral farms and other fish places, parties!, new jobs for Candler, graduation for Colleen, job offers for Colleen, internships for Jordan, Todd-ifer :(, Cuco's, carpooling to church, last supper at Wendy's on Broad St., internship for Hillary, weird stories of Hillary's baby-sitting adventures...and so much more! Love always, Hillary and Jordan.
And now we get to eat a fabulous chocolate cake. Nothing like chocolate therapy. We really are blessed to have so many great people in our lives. Love you guys!!
