New lights

Who doesn't love a  project on the house? I had bought some new lights to go on either side of our garage. We estimated it would be about a 30 min. swap of the old lights for the new.

Five hours later...we learned about a quirk with the wiring in our house. The previous owners (which of course we were having wonderful thanks for them running through our heads during all of this) had the outlets in our kitchen replaced with GFI outlets and then had some wiring fixed in the garage. So the quirk is that when one of the outlets gets tripped it shuts off power to half our house. The breaker never gets tripped, just the outlet. So when Candler replaced the lights somehow (???) the outlets got tripper and half the house lost power. In our kitchen our appliances still worked, but the overhead lighting in the kitchen was our, but not in the living room. So Candler's brother came over and they finally figured out the issue. Not a hazardous issue, just stupid and one to be aware of.

Ugh!!!
