Our new family activity has become nightly nerf gun wars. Sav has learned how to load, aim, and fire her gun. She's developed a whole new vocabulary to go with the game:
Ready = She's ready to get her loaded and cocked gun
Fire = she's ready to shoot you
Oh no = Right before she shoots you she gets a smile on her face and says "Oh no!"
I hit = she got hit with a dart. Yes we do shoot at her, typically aiming for the padded bum area. There have been a couple accidents where Sav shot herself, but she was back in the game in no time.
Got it = After a dart has been fired she views it as a game of catch and goes to get the dart
Then there are lots of whispering between us and Savvy telling her to get Daddy or get Mommy. I'm pretty sure she likes to shoot Candler more than me. It's become a pretty hilarious night time adventure as Candler and I have war on each other complete with hiding behind Sav's art easel, door ways, you name it - war is on. Such fun to have a little family.
