Sick Savvy

Savannah got her first sickness this month - a gross, nasty cold. She's still been in good spirits, just stuffy and runny nose. This being the first time that she's been sick I had to pull out all the Mommy tricks and tips from my friends to try and minimize the pain (for her and for me) of being sick. Here is my arsenal:

L2R - Aquaphor for her cheeks and nose to keep them from getting chapped. Nasal aspirator to get the gunk out. Benadryl for the first few nights to help dry her up. Tylenol and Ibuprofen to rotate through the day. Baby Vicks vapor rub to put on her chest to help her breathe. Compressed Saline Mist - this stuff is a million times better than the squirt bottle since it mists lightly Savvy doesn't fight me on it. Last, the Graco nasal sucker - a friend recommended this and as gross as it may be it was the best thing those first few days to keep her cleaned out and sleeping through the night.

After a week her nose is still runny but certainly improved. Here's hoping that she continues to sleep like a baby ;-)
